Imphal, November 22 2010: In an incident that was as shocking as it was repulsive, a student hacked to death the Principal of a private school at Phoudel under Yairipok Police Station in Thoubal district.

According to police report, Principal of Elica Public Academy, Md Bhutto (31) was hacked to death by 14-year old Md Ajiruddin at Phoudel Konompat on November 19 night.

Ajiruddin is from Hatta Golapati and is a student of class IX in Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School.

At the time of the incident, he was staying with one of his aunties at Phoudel.

On that fateful day, Md Bhutto came across some students including Ajiruddin participating in a gambling game at Wangkhem Bazar and he chided them.

However, in the night, Ajiruddin came along with some other friends and hacked Bhutto to death after calling him out from his Phoudel Khunou residence.

A day after the gruesome crime, infuriated locals set the house of Ajiruddin's aunty on fire and the father of Ajiruddin surrendered to the police.

On the same day, police also managed to arrest the accused Ajiruddin from Hatta.

Yairipok police have registered a case in this connection.
