Training programme concludes in Bishnupur

Imphal, July 22 2014:
A series of training programmes on MGNREGS for implementing agencies and officials of Bishnupur district that kick started on July 9, concluded with holding of a training programme of Mates at Bishnupur Mini Secretariat hall today.
The three-stint training programme was organised by DRT Bishnupur under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Jason A Shimray, who is also the MGNREGS District Programme Co-ordinator.
Speaking at the closing function as chief guest, Jason A Shimray said that India is a country of villages.
MGNREGS is one of the most important schemes being implemented by the Government towards bringing development in the villages of the country, he added.
Being a democratic country, development programmes are being taken up by three different Governments viz Central Government, State Government and Local Self Government, the DC said.

Jason A Shimray said that role of rural local self Government is significant towards proper implementation of MGNREGS.
Implementing agencies which are working at grassroot level must fully understand the guidelines of the scheme, he added.
Mentioning the importance of people's participation, Jason A Shimray urged the trainees to take the opportunity of learning the revised guidelines of MGNREGS in the training programme.
MGNREGS Bishnupur Nodal Officer Salam Shyam while speaking at the training programme as resource person said that MGNREGS records and datas are being maintained transparently with the introduction of Management Information System (MIS).
He also spoke at length on Electronic Fund Management System at the programme.
Bishnupur MGNREGS Training Coordinator O Sunita, APO Md Eleas, Co-ordinator (Social Audit) A Maheshkumar, Panhayat Secretary S Ibopishak and PO Setu also spoke as resource persons.
