Imphal, June 22 2011: GP (Ghanapriya) Women's College Principal has clarified that no construction activities are underway at the college with regard to setting up of a swimming pool.

While rejecting news report of the College being among other institutions where swimming pools are being constructed, Principal Y chandrashakhi informed that an internal deliberation is underway as to whether or not a proposal should be sent to University Grants Commission for availing the aquatic sports facilities.

she also conveyed that from the very beginning of the College's establishment there is a small pond inside the compound which was recently cleaned after spotting snakes around it.

Apart from rearing of some ducks there is no plan to convert the pond as a swimming pool, she maintained.
