Sangai Shirui Shoppe opened at Imphal Post office

Chief Secretary O Nabakishore inaugurated "Sangai Shirui Shoppe", the first Post Shoppe of Manipur at Imphal Head Post Office in the presence of Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts), Manipur.
According to a statement, "Sangai Shirui Shoppe" will provide stationery, handicraft products, books and philately items to the people visiting post office.
Vinod Kumar said that many a times people who are coming to post office have to run here and there for getting proper cloth and other material for managing their parcels.
The post Shoppe will cater their needs of all packing material and stationery items.
"Sangai Shirui Shoppe" is a new concept for Manipur post offices.
It will provide useful services to the public, said Chief Secretary and added that in the era of technology generally office staff don't get chance to purchase things for themselves and they can do shopping here.
O Nabakishore appreciated the efforts made by Vinod Kumar saying that within a short span of time the Director has made many positive changes in postal system and this postal Shoppe is another milestone in the history of Manipur.
Vinod Kumar said that the members of public staff members as well as postal employees remains very busy during their working days and they don't get enough time to buy essential daily use items, this post shoppe will meet this need of officials also.
Stationery items ranging from various sizes of envelopes, A4 papers, pens, staplers, scissors, glue sticks, CD/DVD/pen drives, and handicraft materials are there for sale.
Vinod Kumar said that many a times foreign tourists come to post office and they want to send Manipur special items to their countries.
This shoppe will showcase selected handicraft items like yoga mats, kouna grass items and books related to Manipur.
Tourists can buy these items and get them packed in quality packing material for sending to their homes.
Even people can buy various types of all time much-loved Ngari and pickles in this shoppe.
Th Gandhi, Marketing Executive, Post Office said that in order to make the people aware about the environment, saplings of trees will be sold at a very reasonable price in "Sangai Shirui Shoppe" which will help curbing pollution.
Atom Karambir, postal official added that young students from different schools will be invited to this shoppe as new generation has to learn about protection of environment.
Homeshori intimated that the shoppe will make some daily use items available for public as well as philately items like beautiful 'My stamp' (with picture of visitors) and other newly released stamps, special covers, Mugs imprinted with image of Stamps, Philately frames, Stamp Albums etc.
The director added that initially this Shoppe will be run on experimental basis with selective items but as per the requirements of visitors more things can be added on shelves.
It may include magazines or periodicals and even newspapers for the people of Manipur.
To know the need of people there will be a visitor's book in which any person can register views and also the requirements.
The director requested and invited all members of public to visit "Sangai Shirui Shoppe" and experience a new unique way of buying items.
