Rehab workshop for Lallumba cadres held

A one-day workshop for the cadres of KCP-MC (Lallumba) was organised today at 7th MR Bn Hqs to sensitise on the issues pertaining to their rehabilitation as envisaged under the Tripartite Agreement signed with the group in 2010, and renewed in August 2011 for a period of one year.
Police officers, Government officials and bank officials concerned also attended the workshop.
Officials of UBI, Imphal, nodal bank for rehabilitation, made a detailed presentation on the avenues open to the cadres and the procedure involved in availing financial assistance from the bank under various schemes, said a press release issued by Addl SP/CID (SB) S Gautam Singh, who is the Chairman of Joint Monitoring Group.
Today's programme was part of the rehabilitation process undertaken by the State Government.
The cadres of the group have already been given three months' vocational training at the Art of Living Foundation, Pune.
Thereafter, they were given vocational training in driving, poultry farming, piggery and fish farming.
Apart from providing stipend to the leaders and cadres of the group, one time financial assistance along with weapon incentive will also be given.
The State Government through the Joint Monitoring Group is closely monitoring for early implementation of the Special Rehabilitation Package provided for the cadres in the Tripartite Agreement to enable them to lead a normal life, said the press release.
