Imphal, March 21 2016:
Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing has questioned how the much coveted integrity can be achieved when even Government employees refuse postings at hill districts.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Manipur Nursing Council building at the Medical Directorate complex, Lamphel which was held under the aegis of Registrar and Staff of Manipur Nursing Council.
Attending as chief guest, Phungzathang Tonsing said the medical sector has notably advanced in the last few years.
In such an advanced stage it is questionable why most Government employees refuse to be posted at hill districts.
The question of integrity is a far cry when even employees refuse postings at hill areas.
Unity and the feeling of brotherhood will come naturally if employees happily undertake works accorded to them and blend with the surrounding people irrespective of topography.

Integrity can only be achieved when the different communities learn to accept and respect each other.
"A senior doctor Dr Kala who has been serving at the hill areas for a while now, once told me that his service at the hills will pave the way to integrity and I cannot agree more," the Minister stated.
On World TB Day, Phungzathang said it is important to raise awareness regarding TB amongst the people.
JNIMS Hospital and Churachandpur District Hospital have been provided with a TB testing machine each recently.
The State Government will soon open the same facility at other district hospitals.
Most district hospitals, leaving out Moreh, Jiri and Kangpokpi, have been upgraded to 100 bedded hospitals.
The left out district hospitals will soon be upgraded.
The State Government is mulling installation of 100 more beds at Churachandpur district hospital, he stated.
"Its a matter of pride that the State is among States with low child mortality rate," Phungzathang stated.
Medical and Health Services Director Dr O Ibomcha, Ayush Director Dr K Lokendro, Family Welfare Director Dr K Rajo and Nursing Medical Directorate Joint Director Bungjanem Balte also attended the inaugural function.
A two day workshop on 'General Nursing Midwifery revised syllabus' was also initiated as a part of the World TB Day today.
