AT, United Committee deny involvement in alleged abduction bid

Imphal, December 20 2024: Refuting the accusation made by H Kotlenphai Village Authority, Tengnoupal district, Arambai Tenggol Unit 40-Kha Ngakpa has denied any involvement in the alleged abduction attempt of an 18 year old girl from the village on December 18 .

Terming the accusation as "baseless", a release issued by Arambai Tenggol Unit-40 said that Arambai Tenggol will never conduct such "immoral and uncivilized act" towards any student, regardless of community.

It further urged people to verify and confinn any narrative before laying blame on AT .

Additionally, the United Committee, Pallel has also denied the involvement of any Meeteis from Pallel in the alleged abduction attempt of Vahtinchan, d/o Hemkhomang Haokip.

According to separate press releases issued by KSO Tengnoupal and H Kotlenphai VA on December 19 and 18 respectively, the 18 year old was returning after appearing for an exam at South East Manipur College, Komlathabi when the incident occurred.

United Committee Pallel denounced the alleged abduction bid and made an appeal to everyone to refrain from carrying out such antisocial acts.

The Committee also sought protection from both State and Central forces to ensure that there is no disputes or distrust between different communities.
