'Friends Across Barriers' launched in Senapati

Senapati, December 19 2021:
Senapati DC Mahesh Chaudhari (IAS) inaugurated the Project Friends Across Barriers (FAB), MANEDA, Senapati cum cultural community event at Thangal Ecological Park, Mayangkhang yesterday.
In her welcome note, Meveine Kazia Sousho, Coordinator, FAB stated that the project aims at bringing together the different communities to bring a peaceful atmosphere.
She also sought the cooperation of all for the success of the programme.
T Peter Rangnamei, Director, MANEDA introduced the project to the gathering mentioning about the project as an international project, funded from Germany.
The project in the national level is reportedly divided into 3 zones as the southern, northern and the eastern region zones with north east region grouped in the eastern zone.
The north east partners are reported to entitle "Friends across Barriers" with the thought that the north eastern states have lots of barriers among the society.

The project is stated to target the young minds, children from 5-15 years and youth from 16-25 years of age including the women who are also known as the architect of a society.
There are reported to be 3 partners in Manipur as MANEDA in Senapati, Saikul in Kangpokpi district and 1 in Tengnoupal district.
The activity of the project is to inculcate the value of humanity in the young minds so that the thought of ism is kept away with in the society among sub-tribes.
The project is reportedly targeted for 4 years of duration within the project areas covering from T/Khullen to Kathikho Karong.
16 villages representing all the tribes including 2 villages of Maram tribe, 2 Thangal villages, 2 Kuki villages, 2 Mao villages, 2 Poumai villages, 2 Liangmei villages and 1 Tangkhul village.
The 16 villages would reportedly try to bring out the ideas of the society with the target to Govt schools and Primary schools what they aspire from the society.
The project would target to form Children's Parliament by giving them ideas and come out with their own ideas including the women organizations where, such written report would be sent up to the village authorities, CSOs, district DC, state capital and even to national capital including the President of India.
It is reportedly a platform to put new ideas for betterment of the society although it may take some processes to come to reality, the director stated.
Pung Mark, President, Senapati District Students Association exhorted the gathering where he expressed his happiness for the concern of the young minds targeting especially the students community under the project.
The name of the project FAB itself is interesting, he said where he is hopeful to bring better change in the society with the union of different tribes to show their uniqueness.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Chaudhari stated that the mission is laudable where people will be taught the values of humanity.
The DC also expressed happiness to see people of the region with their open mindedness and the equality that is prevailing in the society.
Coming from different state, the DC also expressed his happiness to learn new lifestyles as he has been posted at different places of the state.
The DC then appeals to all for maximum participation and make the project a success through joining hands together under the project to make a peaceful atmosphere.
The latter part of the program continued with cultural show from the project covering villages with their beautiful traditional attires.
