Imphal, November 19 2011:
The UKLF has rubbished the allegation about the involvement of its home secretary in serving monetary demand and holding four excavator drivers hostage and shooting two in their hands who were engaged in the road construction work from Khullem Khailet to Phailem in Sajik Tampak.
Speaking to media persons at Molnoi village of Chandel district, UKLF home secretary Anthony Thadou clarified that the functions of a home secretary are about administration and has nothing to do with financial matters.
The party has no idea that MA Jabber was executing the contract work.
On the other hand, one party identified as UTLF has already claimed responsibility for making monetary demands, holding the drivers hostage as well as for shooting two drivers.
It is unfortunate that MA Jabber was still blaming the UKLF even after the UTLF has claimed responsibility for the whole incident.
The UKLF is not only for the Kukis, it is for all the communities of Manipur, and it would act never in the interest of few individuals, Anthony
Thadou said.
He also condemned the act of levelling false allegations against the UKLF by contractor MA Jabber.
