'Protester' snatches two-wheeler

Imphal, August 19 2015:
A lone ILP protester at Kiyamgei Pal Ahanbi today allegedly thrashed a 40 year old man and snatched the two-wheeler he was riding together with two other accomplices.
Speaking to media persons, Sorokhaibam Raghu, 40, s/o S Kunjahari of Thoubal Charangpat Maning Leikai said he was returning home after making cash deposit at FCI when the incident happened.
At around 1.30 pm Raghu was stopped by a lone protester holding a bamboo pole at Kiyamgei Pal Ahanbi.
On being questioned why he was travelling during bandh, Raghu told the protester that a single person cannot block the road.
He was about to leave after making the remark when suddenly two more youth holding bamboo poles came forward and attacked from behind Raghu.
Womenfolk in the nearby intervened and asked Raghu to leave the spot immediately.
He was about to leave when he discovered that the Honda Activa (MN04B/2067) he was riding had been confiscated by the attackers.
A complaint has been filed at Singjamei police station.
Raghu is an 8th MR personnel posted at Chandel.
According to his statement, there were Rs 1 lakh in cash, 5 ATM cards and FCI challan inside the tool box of the confiscated vehicle.
One alleged eyewitness identified the protester who stopped Raghu as Khuraijam Basant, s/o Chan-dro of Kiyamgei Pal Ahanbi.
