Cash, fish looted

Around 600 Kgs of fish and Rs one lakh in cash have been allegedly looted by two armed men from a fish farm located at Nungei Mamang Dolaithabi.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Thoudam Tombi, owner of the fish farm alleged that two men forcefully took away more than Rs one lakh in cash and around 600 Kgs of fish taking advantage of the recent Nungei incident between two neighbouring villages.
Two youth from Nungei Khunou Khongbal wielding licensed gun turned up at their fish farm on December 14 which was looked after by Shyam of Nungei Makha Leikai and his son in law AK Tiken.
The armed youth fired a bullet at Shyam and Tiken though none of them were hit.
The armed further challenged them to see whether they can run a fish farm in the area any more.
The armed men also took away two mobile phones, Tombi said.
Regarding the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at Lilong police station, he added.
