95 found positive during special drive at Wangoi

Imphal, November 18 2020: With COVID-19 SOPs thrown out of the window during the by-elections held on November 7, as many as 95 persons have tested positive for coronavirus at Wangoi Assembly Constituency today.

The cases were detected during a testing drive, Health Department and Imphal West district administration took up at 11 places under Wangoi Assembly Constituency.

A total of 533 persons were tested for the virus and 95 were found positive.

The testing drives were conducted at Samurou Awang Leikai Community Hall, Samurou Government High School, Samurou Makha Leikai Community Hall, TYDC Club, Naorem Chaprou Makha Leikai Community Hall, Khongnang Hanubi Community Hall, Wangoi Kabui Community Hall, Lairembi Community Hall, Thambou High School, Thoudam Leikai Community Hall and Wangoi High School.

It may be noted that the testing is being done on one person per household.

The drives will continue tomorrow at seven more places of Wangoi AC.

The testing drive will cover eight more places day after tomorrow.
