Guidelines prepared for SFM

Imphal, January 17 2020: School Education Department has completed preparation of operational guidelines for the School Fagathanshi Mission (SFM) which would be launched in 61 selected schools across the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the State from this academic session.

A meeting was held this morning in the Chief Minister's office with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair.

The meeting reviewed the programmes and activities being implemented by School Education Department.

Education Minister Th Radheshyam, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, School Education Commissioner T Ranjit and School Education Director Th Kirankumar attended the meeting.

During the meeting, officials of School Education Department informed the Chief Minister that operational guidelines for the SFM have been drawn up.

The operational guidelines would be tabled at the next Cabinet meeting before they are put into force, informed a source.

Necessary strength of teaching staff has been posted at all the schools covered by SFM.

It is also said that necessary physical infrastructure would be developed properly.

The schools covered by SFM would have classes from Pre-Nursery to X or XII standard.

The State Government would pay special attention to these schools and there would be restriction on transferring teachers posted at these schools without proper reasons.

The meeting also discussed about releasing salaries for SSA and RMSA teachers.
