Ukhrul, January 17 2014 : Raising doubt over the implementation of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) in Ukhrul district, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (Tangkhul students' union) today pointed out that no school in the district has received 1 KVA of solar power panel even as one solar power panel each had already been issued to 10 schools of the district.

TKS President, Yangmi Kapai today said that the SSA, State Mission Authority Manipur had issued 1 KVA of solar power panel each to 10 schools of the district in 2013.However, the same did not reach the respective school so far.

Besides, under the provision of RTE, children are entitled to receive free education, free text books and mid-day meal, he said.

The TKS president further expressed dissatisfaction regarding the progress made in the construction of Residential School at Shangshak, Ukhrul.

The Tangkhul students' body further urged the concerned authority to look into the matter and ensure smooth implementation of SSA in the district.
