Imphal, December 15 2014:
Manipur BJP chief today demanded that the State Government should clarify the cancellation of a recent Senapati district trip of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam over a reported threat by NSCN-IM.
"A diktat issued from NSCN-IM's Hebron headquarters at Nagaland's Dimapur warned Gaikhangam and his team not to come to Senapati's Somai to attend a programme organised by Paomei Naga Baptist Association on December 13," BJP Manipur Pradesh Th Chaoba told media persons today.
NSCN-IM warned of an attack if the Deputy Chief Minister and his team dared to attend the event and hence the trip was cancelled, Chaoba alleged.
He said such incident has shown lawlessness in Manipur and demanded the Government to clarify.
Chief Minister O Ibobi once returned from Senapati with a grin after he personally saw a big signboard depicting 'Welcome to Nagaland,' he said.
The State BJP leader further accused the Ibobi Government of embezzling public funds.
He alleged, "Ibobi Government has pocketed huge public money.
This can be learned from the report submitted by Comptroller & Auditor General on March 31, 2010" .
"Manipur Government has been misusing various funds meant for development of sports infrastructure.
The CBI should be allowed to probe such cases," he demanded.
He warned that his party will not let the corrupt Government go scot-free.
Meanwhile, Chaoba formally announced joining of four new members to the party.
