The State Cabinet today decided to invite the Secretary concerned of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to discuss the issue over the continued shortage of fuel in Manipur despite lifting of economic blockade along the National Highways long back.
Talking to mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting, spokesperson of the SPF Government and IFC Minister N Biren informed that the Cabinet took serious note of the continued shortage of fuel in Manipur and accordingly decided to call the Secretary of IOC to Imphal tomorrow to discuss the matter.
Subsequently, necessary message has been sent to the IOC, he added.
On other agenda of the Cabinet meeting, the spokesperson informed that the Cabinet has decided to conduct the election of the Ward Committee members in accordance with the Manipur Municipal Council Community Persons Act.
Accordingly, the Cabinet meeting held in the Chief Minister's Secretariat with the Chief Minister in the chair recommended that the election should be held on November 27, 28 and 29 .
Furthermore, the Cabinet has recommended recruitment 41 RDOs and Havildars in Wireless Services.
The Cabinet also recommended increasing the quota of fuel being issued for removal of Phumdis from Loktak.
