Komrem Union Manipur (NEI) bats for unity in face of CAB 2016

The newly appointed president of Komrem Union Manipur (North East India) Lalkhomang Serto has reasoned that isolated agitation or movement against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in the State will not have a profound impact adding that the State should also act according to the situation in the entire North East.
He stated this during the installation programme for the newly selected executive members/staff of the union at Grace Academy, Tarung, Lamphel today.
Maintaining that Manipur is a place where different communities live together in harmony since time immemorial, Lalkhomang Serto assured that the union will never engage in any strategy, plan or talks which threatens the integrity or tranquillity of Manipur.
He stated that Kom tribe has always been maintaining a good and friendly relationship with different communities from the time of their forefathers adding that the relationship is still strong till present.
Lalkhomang has been reelected as president of the union uncontested.
Stating that Kom tribes have been scattered at different parts of the State which has led to differences including customs, the newly appointed president promised to take all positive steps to bring the Kom people together.
M Nelson Kom and K Lerthang were elected as vice president and general secretary respectively among others.
