Th Nilamani donates blood for 40th time

Imphal, September 14 2024:
Thiyam Nilamani Singh, an active member of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Imphal East District Branch, donated blood for the 40th time at Blood Centre, JNIMS, Porompat today.
Nilamani is also a Hindi Teacher in the Khurai Popular High School which is a part of the "School Fagathansi Mission" .
The Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised by IRCS Imphal East District Branch to mark the 40th blood donation of Th Nilamani Singh.
About 40 persons donated their blood during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Laishram Kuber Meetei, secretary of IRCS Imphal East District Branch said that Thiyam Nilamani Singh is one of the most dedicated members of the Red Cross.
"Nilamani donated his blood in the Blood Donation Camps which were organised by the Branch during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Not only these, he also donated his blood in this ensuing communal conflict.
He donated blood 40 times during the last 11/12 years", said Kuber.
Dr Nambram Amulkumar, chairman of IRCS, Imphal East District Branch, expressed concern over the shortage of blood in Blood Banks and appealed to the youths to make a habit of donating blood to save valuable lives.
Dr Konsam Surjit, MO in-charge of Blood Centre JNIMS, asserted that donating blood is not only healthy but can save many precious lives.
"A healthy man of the age group 18-65 years with minimum weight of 45 Kg can donate blood every 3 months while a woman can donate blood every 4 months", he added.
Hajarimayum Roji, blood coordinator of the branch, expressed her appreciation to all the donors for taking part in the event.
