Imphal, June 13 2019:
Congress party has been keenly watching the internal crisis of the BJP-led Government so that it does not miss any chance to return to the centre of things.
Even though BJP has established a very deep rooted Government at the Centre, the State's coalition Government has now fallen in a shaky situation, noted many Congress legislators.
They have even held a thorough discussion among themselves to capitalise on the open revolt against Chief Minister N Biren and the State's financial condition which has run into overdraft, informed a well placed source.
Many Congress MLAs gathered this evening at a home of one of them and had dinner together.
Before having dinner, they held a threadbare deliberation on the political situation unfolding in the State.
The meeting was participated by majority of Congress MLAs including CLP leader and ex-Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, MPCC president Gaikhangam, ex-MPCC president TN Haokip, MLA K Meghachandra and MLA Okram Surjakumar.
However, it could not be ascertained whether the meeting adopted any concrete decision or not.
Meanwhile, NPF which is a coalition partner of the BJP-led Government held a meeting this afternoon and deliberated on the internal crisis of the Government.
But what exactly transpired at the meeting could not be confirmed.
On the other hand, it is reported that NPP, another major partner of the BJP-led coalition Government, has been closely watching the political developments after its legislator and Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has been stripped of the Finance portfolio.
