Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata and Singjamei AC MLA Y Khemchand have conveyed their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang festival.
In a message, the Governor said that the festival of colour/Holi, also known as Yaoshang in the State, is celebrated at the onset of spring every year.
Beyond its lively festivities, it serves as a powerful reminder to rise above differences and strengthen bonds of unity, transcending caste, creed, and religion, said the Governor's message.
He further remarked that Yaoshang festival has evolved into a dynamic sports movement, with communities organizing various sporting events throughout the festival.
The true essence of these activities lies in inclusivity, fostering participation across all age groups and genders.
Urging people to come together to celebrate Yaoshang in its purest spirit, embracing unity, harmony and shared joy, the Governor hoped that the festival will inspire everyone to build a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
Speaker Satyabrata, in his greetings, said that Yaoshang symbolises unity, harmony and the victory of good over evil.
"Let us use this occasion to strengthen the bonds of unity among our diverse communities and reaffirm our commitment to peace and harmony in our beautiful State", he prayed.
Khemchand, on the other hand, prayed for peace and brotherhood among all communities in Manipur.
In his message, he urged the people to come together and pray to the Almighty to usher in peace and a sense of brotherhood among all communities.
