Drugs worth Rs 12 cr seized

Imphal, December 12 2012: A Maruti van carrying huge cache of drugs worth around Rs 12 crores in international market was seized by Thoubal District Police Commandos and arrested two persons in this connection from Pallel bazaar today.

The seized drugs and the arrested persons were paraded before media at the office of Superintendent of Police, Thoubal.

The two arrested persons have been identified as Hathoi Haokip (30) alias Hoisi alias Hoinu, w/o Lunminthang Haokip of Pallel Bazaar and Helkhomang Haokip (66), s/o late Lunkhoson Haokip of Pallel Bazaar, Aimol road.

Hathoi Haokip is the owner of the seized drugs while Helkhomang Haokip is the driver of the van (MN-04A/5450) .

The seized drugs were Pseudoephedrine tablets.

In all 16,73,300 tablets of Pseudoephedrine were found in the van.
