Scooterist Sahoo extends solidarity with Irom Sharmila's struggle

Imphal, November 12 2015:
The more than 15-year old hunger strike campaign launched by Irom Chanu Sharmila against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) 1958 found a new supporter on Thursday.
Rishika Sahoo who has been on a country wide tour on a two-wheeler on Thursday said that AFSPA can only be repealed when the Government and the people sit across the negotiating table.
Sahoo who reached Imphal on Thursday held a press meets at Manipur Press Club and was welcomed by All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMJSU) and Art of Living, Manipur Chapter.
Rishika Sahoo, who kick started her women empowerment journey on a Scooty from Bhubaneswar of Orissa on September 14 last has already covered 20 States before reaching Imphal.
The welcome function was also attended by AMJWU General Secretary Jit Ningomba, JNU Khumbong Principal N Dhiren and artist S Nabachandra.
Later, Rishika Sahoo left Imphal for Aizawl.
