Teachers honoured by Lions Club of Imphal

Imphal, September 12 2021: Lions Club of Imphal honoured four teachers in a simple ceremony held at the Service Centre of the Club at Airport road today.

The teachers were honoured as a part of the celebration of Teacher's Day.

President of Lions Club of Imphal, Lion Irom Gojendra Singh, Secretary, Lion Thounaojam Nitish Singh and Treasurer, Lion Heigrujam Jiten Singh graced the occasion as the presidium members.

One minute silence was observed praying for World Peace at the starting of the programme followed by paying of floral tributes to the photo of Dr S Radhakrishnan, former President of India As a part of the programme, Th Imomacha presented a brief story about the life history of Dr S Radhakrishnan.

In today's programme, four teachers namely Ch Padmabati, former principal of TG Higher Secondary School, H Kunjarani, former president of Recent Higher Secondary School, Ch Thoiba, former HOD and Associate Professor of English Department, MB College and H Jayantakumar, former HOD and Professor of Mathematics Department, DM College of Science were honoured for their valuable contributions in their respective fields.

The selected teachers were presented with a shawl and citation each.

Later, a regular meeting of Lions Club of Imphal was also held.
