Differently abled artist extends monetary aid for treatment of Covid positive painter

Konthoujam Maikel Meetei, a distinguished freelance painter extended monetary aid of Rs 16,500 to help in the treatment of Dorendro Thoudam who is a painter currently undergoing treatment at the ICU Raj Medicity after getting infected with COVID-19 .
The renowned painter Konthoujam Maikel Meetei whose both limbs got amputated due to a bomb blast which occurred on December 2007 at Pourabi Lamkhai donated the amount which he received after selling his Collage Artwork 'Nature-5' through social media platform.
Maikel stated that he thought of selling his work and help ailing Dorendro Thoudam when he heard about his condition.

He continued that many contacted him through Facebook when he updated in his Facebook account regarding the sale of his art piece for the treatment of another painter.
He also extended gratitude to Lekhajit Laishram from Nagamapal currently staying in Karnataka who purchase his work and also prayed for the speedy recovery of Dorendro.
It may be mentioned that Maikel is a exceptional painter who have brought laurels to the State by winning many State, National and International competitions.
He met with the dreadful incident in 2007 while returning home after attending a painting competition based on the theme 'Peace' .
Despite his deformities, he strive relentlessly and has able to emerged out of the incident successfully through his distinguished works.
Many lauded Maikel for his noble gesture at this difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic by helping another painter in need.
