Imphal, May 12 2017:
Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has today said that seats for entrance exams to higher secondary schools under COHSEM should be reserved for CBSE students.
Since result of HSLC exam conducted by BOSEM will be declared ahead of CBSE 10th result, certain number of seats for CBSE students and students who would appeared for compartment exam should be reserved in order to provide equal opportunity under RTE.
10 per cent seats should be reserved for compartment students and the Education Minister should also ensure that this practice is followed in all the higher secondary schools, SUK said in a statement.
It also said that some school authorities, for monetary gain, are making coaching classes mandatory for students without considering the hardships of the parents and students.
Commercialisation of schools should be stopped immediately.
