Imphal, April 11 2017:
Parliamentary Secretary Awangbow Newmai has said that Manipur will not progress or develop until and unless the different communities learn to respect each other and live in harmony.
He stated this during a felicitation programme organised at CHAMS campus, Namdilong, Kanglatongbi by Liangmai Naga Council, today.
Newmai remarked that Manipur need change but that change can only be brought by peace and harmony between the different ethnic communities residing in the State.
He pointed out that only promises about bringing peace and development would not bear the required results.
A problem can be solved only when one finds the root cause of that problem.
Bandhs, blockades etc can be prevented only when the authority concerned find out the cause and reason behind the issue, he added.
Newmai further asserted that NPF neither endorses blockades nor desire tension between the communities adding that no one can look down on any other individual nor take away their rights.
Ethnic dance, music show and prayers were the main highlights of the felicitation programme of the Parliamentary Secretary.
The chairman, Pastors and leaders of different organisations which took part in the event also presented gifts to Newmai.
