Sambit Patra, Sharda, BJP MLAs meet Bhalla

Imphal, February 11 2025: In the midst of the political uncertainty besetting the State, BJP North East Coordinator Sambit Patra, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and some Ministers/MLAs held a meeting with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan this afternoon.

A political unrest has been besieging the State after the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren on February 9 .

With the BJP legislators unable to elect a new leader, the Assembly session scheduled to commence from February 10 has been cancelled.

In this backdrop of political uncertainty, Sambit Patra, A Sharda, Govindas Konthoujam, H Basantakumar, Awangbow Newmai, Thokchom Radheshyam and Thongam Shanti held a meeting with the Governor at around 4.40 pm.

Although the meeting went on till around 5.12 pm, what exactly transpired at the meeting could not be ascertained.

Nonetheless, a well placed source informed that Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has recommended the Centre to keep the State Government under suspended animation.
