Imphal, November 10 2012:
The Government of India has been consistently trying to project the insurgency movement of Manipur as ethnic conflict, stated RK Ranendrajit, chairman, Freedom Research Foundation.
He was speaking at a panel discussion programme held at Manipur Press Club here today on the topic "Countdown to India's Political Time Bomb
to Destroy Manipur" .
The demand for separate political arrangement for Nagas and the demand for Kuki homeland, all within the territory of Manipur are instigated by the Government of India.
Thus the Government of India has been scheming to finish off the liberation movement of Manipur by transforming it as conflict between different ethnic groups.
Questioning the logical conclusion of the Naga militant group which is now demanding alternative arrangement after giving up its primary demand for Naga sovereignty, Ranendrajit observed that the particular militant group and the Government of India are arriving at a solution after 15 years of peace talk, but the concerns of Zeliangrong United Front and NSCN-K have not been addressed.
These Naga militant groups have been waging waves after waves of military offensive against each other.
The ZUF has openly declared that the Zeliangrongs would remain as Zeliangrong.

All these happenings are Government of India's creation, he alleged.
All the communities of Manipur need to understand such sinister policy of the Government as well as its social, political and economic implications.
Manipur today is like a bomb that has been already ignited by the Government of India, Ranendrajit asserted.
The panel discussion programme was also attended by Human Rights Initiative Chairman RK Ranjan, social activist Dr Dhanabir Laishram, AMWJU president A Mobi, Seven Sisters Post Imphal correspondent Y Rupachandra and Prof N Joykumar of Manipur University.
Dr Dhanabir Laishram asserted that both the Naga armed movement and the liberation movement of Manipur were invited by the Government of India's self-centric policies.
It is universal practice for colonial powers to create internal contradictions within occupied territories.
In Manipur too, the Government of India has been consistently plotting to create internal contradictions.
Creating contradictions between Kukis, Nagas and Meiteis has become a duty of the Government of India.
By collecting 'taxes' from vehicles plying on highways and buying arms out of money thus earned, the weapons have been turned towards their own people.
The situation demands a clear understanding among all indigenous communities.
Not only Manipur, all the people of the North East region should realize that they are being subdued by the Government of India.
Only then, the region can find a way to the future, Dr Dhanabir asserted.
Prof N Joykumar observed that all issues related to Manipur and Nagaland are decided by New Delhi.
To bring a political solution to the Naga issue, New Delhi would not give a thought whether the Chief Minister of Manipur is agreeable or not.
"While discussing the issue of Manipur's territorial integrity, one should not blame any particular community.
We must also admit our own mistakes", said Prof Joykumar.
Y Rupachandra said that Manipur's integrity should not be seen only from political perspective but also on the line of fraternal relationship shared by all the indigenous communities.
A Mobi noted that media should work tirelessly to ensure that there is no gap of any sort among different communities of Manipur.
The panel discussion programme was attended by many distinguished senior citizens and leaders of civil society organisations.
