CCpur public rally demands justice

A public rally held today at Churachandpur called for immediate identification and arrest of those involved in the killing and the Rs 1.15 crore heist executed in broad daylight on September 4.The rally organised by the JAC against killing of Arambam Ranjan in collaboration with local CSOs took out the protest rally at 10 am from Tuibong Peace Ground to DC office.
A memo addressed to the Chief Minister was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner by the JAC and CSO leaders.
It is learnt that the memo expressed confidence on the Government to crack the case even as they also made it known the resolve of JAC and CSO to continue staging different forms of protest if the criminals are not booked urgently.
Sources also said the wife of late Ranjan today went to CCpur police station along with her son to continue her hunger strike which she started since her husband's death but was persuaded to leave the station.
It may be noted that the police has so far taken into their custody at least three suspects but have not made any announcement of having cracked the case.
A monetary award of Rs 1 lakh was also announced by the district police to anyone who can lead them to the arrest of the culprit.
Meanwhile the ZRO in a statement issued today said they appreciate the steps taken up by the district administration to nab the criminals involved in the daring heist on September 4 .
They not only condoled but are in fact pained at the killing of Ranjan, a Cash Replenishment Agent in the melee, it claimed.
The outfit further maintained that they are extending all possible cooperation at its disposal to the district authorities and the State Government that may lead to the arrest of the culprits.
'It is also our appeal that everyone must be united in the fight against menace of social evils and criminals in the society,' it added.
