One day discussion programme held

Women Actions for Development (WAD), Manipur and Khangabok Meira Paibi and local clubs jointly organised a one-day discussion on crime against women and children at Khangabok-I Khullakpam Leikai in Thoubal district today.
Speaking at the occasion, Executive Director of Human Right Alert Babloo Loitongbam said that various forms of crime against women and children have increased in the State due to non availability of daily essential commodities by the people for survival.
Non delivery of subsidised materials to the public has added fuels to the rising crimes.
So citizens of the State shall protest against the Govt for proper and delivery subsidised items, said Babloo Loitongbam.
The project co-ordinator of WAD Joshila Devi said that public meeting is held in order to spread the idea of unity among ourselves and work together against rape, molest, human trafficking.
She also urged the Govt to conduct fair investigation on the unnatural death of many individuals, special training for the police to tackle this crimes and to set up a emergency special investigation team.
