Ultimatum served over shortage of District Hospital staff and absence of DTO at Senapati

Senapati, August 09 2019:
The District Frontal Organizations of Senapati including the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) and Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) have served an ultimatum to the State Govt to tackle the staff shortage crisis at the100 bedded District Hospital, Senapati by August 20 else face stern action, said a press communique issued by the three frontal organizations of the district.
In numerous occasion, the Frontal Organization had reportedly called on the Govt to shed its bureaucratic attitude and start implementing their manifestos into action at the earliest possible time, maintained the statement and stated that they were left with no option but to give an ultimatum following several unproductive meetings with the authorities.
Over the past few months, most of the Doctors and Nurses were reportedly transferred without replacement till date causing acute shortage of staff in the District Hospital, Senapati, added the statement and shared the pain of the current Doctors and Nurses posted at the district hospital as they have to make sacrifices to cope with the workload each day that often do not allow them to take leave.
While staff tried to keep up a good service to the public, there are times when they could not meet the patient inflow in the hospital, stressed the statement and informed that the District CSOs have been receiving lots of complaint from the public about the shortage of staff in emergency cases too.
Currently, only 25 doctors are rendering their services out of 77 sanctioned posts and only 11 Nurses are in service out of the total 38 sanctioned posts, maintained the statement.
As such, the CSOs of Senapati district urged the Govt to bring up a manpower plan by August 20.Regarding the absence of DTO for the last 2 months in the District, the statement said that CSOs are shocked to realize the administration of a department without its head.
Earlier, the Office of the District Transport Office Senapati had reportedly served a notice on June 24, 2019 through the former DTO to shut down the office due to transfer and posting issue of its office staff and also for creation of new user code and password of the administrator.
Since then, the office has been reportedly running without its head of department.
The District CSOs reiterated that absence of DTO has caused so many inconveniences to the public while cautioning to launch democratic agitation if their demand are not fulfilled before the deadline.
