Valedictory function of awareness programme on Water Conservation held

With an aim to spread awareness among the students as well as nearby communities, Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram and DBHSS organised a weeklong Water Conservation programme from March 1 till 7 .
The water conservation week featured a variety of activities, such as essay competition, debate, quiz, slogan writing, skit, mime, poetry, poster making and painting competition on the theme 'Valuing Water' .
The event aimed to help the students understand the negative impacts of climate change on water resources and to encourage them to make further efforts to save water and help build a water conservation culture in the community.
As a culmination to the Water Conservation week a mega rally was organised on March 8 by the NSS volunteers of DBC and DBHSS carrying out messages on the concept of 'valuing water' .
The rally was participated by students, staff, NSS volunteers from DBC and DBHSS and local leaders and it was flagged off at Assembly ground of the college by its principal Fr (Dr) K O Sebastian SDB.
The participants took pledge to save water, plant tree saplings and take efforts to preserve rainwater in storage tanks and waterbodies in their respective villages.
The programme concluded with the final blessings by Fr Jose Cyriac SDB the Rector and Parish Priest of John Bosco Parish.
