Imphal, October 08 2017: Kairang-Khomidok Zilla Parishad candidate Md Baddur Rahman who also held the post of Imphal East Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha during the previous term has been arrested by Imphal East District Police .

He was arrested at around 11 pm yesterday from Public Hospital, Hatta where he was undergoing treatment .

It is suspected that he was arrested in connection with poll related violence.

Meanwhile, Baddur Rah-man's election agent Jabir Rahman has strongly condemned the arrest .

He maintained that Baddur Rahman had nothing to do with the poll related violence that took place at Heingang Mayai Leikai Primary School.
