Imphal, September 08 2022: Preparations have been initiated for observation of Seva Pakhwada (A Fortnight of Service) from September 17 to October 2 across the State in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.

Notably, September 17 is the birthday of Narendra Modi.

A joint meeting of BJP Ministers, MLAs, office bearers, district presidents, mandal presidents and key leaders of the party was held today at JN Manipur Dance Academy auditorium.

Speaking to media persons outside the auditorium, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda said that Seva Pakhwada would be observed across the State for a fortnight in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.

The programme is basically about helping underprivileged and weaker sections of the society and translating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principles into action, Sarda said.

Blood donation camps, free health check-up camps, distribution of artificial limbs, plantation of tree saplings, cleaning of ponds, rain water harvesting, observation of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's birth anniversary on September 25 and observation of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 are some of the activities listed within the programme, she said.
