Imphal, February 08 2014 :
Contenting that the cause of D Heshu Bernard's death in his hostel in Maharashtra last year was not suicide, the victim's father today urged the State Govt to conduct proper investigation on the death of Heshu Bernard.
D Heshu Bernard, a second year student of B Tech (Computer Science) of Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gondia, Maharashtra was reported to have committed suicide in his hostel on November 19 last year.
Hailing from Makhrelui village of Senapati district, Heshu Bernard was a State nominee at MIET, Gondia, Maharashtra after cracking the AIEEE in 2012 .
The family was informed by the hostel warden, DK Pandey that Bernard was found dead inside a toilet of the hostel on Nov 19 last year.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club today, Kh Dihe, father of Bernard, said that the floor of the toilet where his son was found dead was dismantled when he landed at the hostel last year after getting the news of his son's death.
Saying that the post mortem examination was conducted without the consent of the family, Dihe further said that the PM report is still not furnished.
Further when the dead body was uncovered before performing the last rite at his native village, an injury mark probably caused by a sharp object was found around his neck.
His jaw was found loosened, Dihe said.
Refuting that his son's committed suicide, Kh Dihe strongly urged the State Govt to conduct a probe in the case.
