Imphal, January 08 2014:
Inability to utilise the annual plan amount completely is a clear indication that development programmes have been put on halt and the Government has failed misera-bly in governance, said BJP State unit vision document co-chairman Dr RK Ranjan.
He was speaking at a mass enrolment camp cum political conference held at Mayang Imphal Ani Longbi ground today under the aegis of Ma-yang Imphal BJP Mandal.
Inability to use even 20 per cent of the annual plan amount even as the present fi-nancial year is in its last quar- ter is a clear indication that all development activities have been put on hold.
It shows that the incumbent Congress Government has no aptitude for governance.
Asking if the Congress Government has done anything for the welfare of peo- ple apart from bringing misery, Dr Ranjan asserted that it's time for people to analyse the achievements and failures of the Congress Governments ruling at the Centre and the State.
He went on to question why three Congress MPs of Manipur never raised the issue of Indo-Myanmar border fencing in the Parliament even once.
No other party can draw Parliament's attention on the issues of Manipur except BJP.
Congress was routed in the Assembly elections of four big States recently.
The only man who can wrest power from Congress party and set up a new Government in the country is BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, he claimed.
Narendra Modi can certainly bring about a new Government characterised by good governance, speedy development, accountability and transparency.
Meinam Khagemba hurled an even more scathing attack against the Congress Government saying that it has failed miserably in maintaining law and order, controlling prices of essential commodities, protecting lives of women and children.
Saying that the Congress party is embroiled in multiple scams of corruption, Khagemba added that he joined BJP for he believed that only BJP can topple the Congress Government.
"Muslim people of Mayang Imphal Assembly segment support BJP and even suggested me to join BJP", he claimed.
Around 1500 people enrolled in BJP at the enrolment camp held today.
BJP State unit president Th Chaoba and other leaders took spoke at the gathering.
