CM, Governor hold closed door meet

A key meeting of the Ministers and MLAs of the ruling party was convened at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today where the prevailing law and order situation in the State was deliberated.
The meeting was presided by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister called on Governor Lakshman Acharya with a list of proposals and held a closed door meeting.
Even though what transpired at the meeting could not be ascertained, it is believed that the Chief Minis- ter raised the matter of reinstating him as the Unified Command Chairman.
N Biren is also believed to have apprised the Governor of the urgent need for the Centre to take note of all the excesses being meted out by Kuki militants.
Meanwhile, the meeting held at the CM's Secretariat was attended by 28 legislators of the ruling parties including the Chief Minister.
Some MLAs who are currently outside Manipur, one Minister and some other MLAs (on medical ground) didn't join the meeting despite the strong instruction given to them to attend the meeting without fail.
The meeting deliberated on the unrest in Manipur, prevailing law and order situation, the growing outrage among the people following the drone and rocket attacks at Meetei residential areas which led to the killing of civilians and and the measures which they (the ruling MLAs) want the Central leadership to take up on priority basis.
Apart from other agenda, the ruling MLAs also discussed the need to entrust the authority of the Unified Command to the Chief Minister and for the Central Government to take note of deployment of drones and missiles to attack civilians and take up necessary actions to build confidence among the people.
The gathering decided to meet the Governor tomorrow and put forth the course of action which they wish the Centre to initiate .
After the meeting which continued till 7.20 pm, the Chief Minister headed to Raj Bhavan and held a closed door meeting with the Governor for about 30 minutes.
The Chief Minister came out from Raj Bhavan at around 8.05 pm and met about 10 MLAs again at the CM's Secretariat.
It is reported that the Chief Minister sought permission for all the ruling MLAs to meet the Governor tomorrow during the closed door meeting with the latter and the meeting is likely to take place at around 11 am .
