Imphal, August 07 2023: Health & IPR Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh today launched Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 in the State.

The launching event was jointly organised by State Health Society, National Health Mission, Manipur and Directorate of Health Services Government of Manipur at the Conference Hall of JNIMS, Porompat, Imphal East.

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Dr S Ranjan Singh said that immunisation of children is necessary in order to protect them from diseases and keep other children healthy by eliminating or reducing dangerous diseases.

"It has become easier to keep records of immunisation with the advancement of technology.

The data also need to be maintained for future references", he added.

He maintained that the immunisation programme should be conducted adhering to proper guidelines prescribed by the Ministry of Health.

"Frontline health staff and volunteers should follow proper guidelines.

Proper training of the staff is also required in order to fulfil the objective of the campaign", he asserted.

The Minister also highlighted the important role played by the frontline health staff and health volunteers during the time of COVID pandemic.

Secretary/Commissioner Health, Government of Manipur, PK Jha; SMD, National Health Mission, Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam; Director JNIMS Dr L Deven Singh and Medical Superintendent, JNIMS, Dr Kh Lokeshwar also attended the event as presidium members.
