Two ex-IMC Councillors join Team Nishikant
Nishikant Sapam advocates honesty, corruption-free politics

Imphal, December 06 2021: Nishikant Singh Sapam has said that the most important elements in politics are honesty, having a vision and abstinence from corruption.

Nishikant Singh Sapam, who is preparing to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Keishamthong AC, made the remark while welcoming ex-Councillors of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) Maisnam Joy and Oinam Romio and 36 others who had recently joined Team Nishikant at a programme held at his residence at Sega Road, Thouda Bhabok Leikai today.

Vision is a culmination of one's experience and wisdom, he added.

Manipur will surely become a 'Sanaleipak' when politicians start to put forth a vision, free from corruption, Nishikant maintained.

Reiterating his stand not to get involved in corruption, contract works, trans- fer and posting of employees, Nishikant Singh Sapam said he will not let any of his family members get involved in his political works.

Corruption is not just about bribery, but when anyone does some work without complete honesty, that also amounts to corruption, he added.

Stating that his stand to stay away from corruption as an 'inner calling', Nishikant said corruption has nothing to do with education as even a highly educated person can be involved in corruption.

Adding that ex-Councillors M Joy and O Romio are leaders who are widely supported by the people, Nishikant said their joining will strengthen Team Nishikant.

Winning the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election is not a personal achievement but the achievement of Team Nishikant.

Team Nishikant is the team that will work for the people of Keisham-thong AC after winning the election, he said.

He added that winning elections is the first step and it will be followed by working selflessly and relentlessly for the welfare of people.

Nishikant Singh Sapam presented BJP scarves to the 38 individuals from Keishampat Keisham Leikai, Pishum Ningom Leirak, Keishamthong Top Leirak and Haobam Marak who had joined Team Nishikant today.

Speaking at the programme, ex-Councillor M Joy said he had decided to support Nishikant Singh Sapam as he is the only candidate who is honest and will continue working for the welfare of the people even after winning election.

O Romio said Keishamthong AC is doing very poorly on all developmental fronts despite its location within zero mile of Imphal city.

"All of us should support Nishikant Singh Sapam who has been working honestly for the welfare of the people of Keishamthong AC", he added.
