Imphal, October 06 2021: Former principal of Sainik School Imphal (SSI), Brigadier Dr S S Parmar has extended warm wishes on the occasion of Golden Jubilee celebration of the school and recounted his experience and the achievements of the school during his tenure.

In his message, he stated that the Sainik School Imphal was inaugurated on October 7, 1971 in the salubrious climate of Imphal valley with the vision that gifted students from the North Eastern Indian States of Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh & the friendly country Royal Bhutan, should be caught young and provided with quality education so that their capacities and capabilities cum latent talent are developed & channelised that alongwith their overall development of personality they also become an asset to the nation in different fields especially Defence Forces and to help giving a boost to the national economy.

He considers SSI as a pole-star amongst the Galaxy of Sainik Schools of India and stated that the school is a representation of mini - India with national feelings and pervasive of international integration fragrance.

Recalling some of his memorable experiences, he said that as a Principal of SSI , he had the golden opportunity to interview young aspirants from 5 states of N E India & Royal Kingdom of Bhutan for admission to the school.

He also enlisted the prominent achievements of the school during his tenure including the achievement of highest academic excellence (especially in 2002 -2003) among all the Sainik Schools of India , with large number of cadets joining TES besides NDA, many +2 class students got rare 'All India Scholarship in Biotechnology' for securing exceptionally high marks in CBSE 12th Board Examination for three consecutive years and so on.

The former principal expressed contentment that the 4 years at school were one of the most satisfying times of his life and also lauded the achievements of the cadets who have carved a name for themselves in different fields across the globe.

He also extended gratitude to all concerned for their whole hearted contribution for uplifting the school status at national level as well as organising the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and wished the Sainik School fraternity for a bright future.
