Imphal, December 05 2011:
The last session of the 9th Assembly, which is likely to have only three sittings, is set to be conducted in the newly inaugurated Assembly building at Chingmeirong.
Although, construction works are not fully completed, the three-day session, slated to start from December 20, will be conducted in the new building as the majority of the Members of the 9th Assembly have expressed their desire to hold the historic session there, said an informed source.
However, Simplex, the work agency of the new Assembly building, is planning to hand over the project to the State Government only after its full completion in March next year, the source added.
Installation of seats with microphones and digital sound system has been completed in the new Assembly Hall.

With sound checking already finalised, sound engineers of the Assembly Secretariat would be given training to operate the new system during the session, the source added.
It further said that as the chambers for the Chief Minister and Speaker are still incomplete, alternative arrangements would be made for it.
Although, parliamentary reporting, security and Dak staff of old Assembly Secretariat would be there in the new building during the three-day session, Assembly staff are likely to face some inconveniences as the new building is not fully ready to hold Assembly sessions.
It was inaugurated on December 3 .
