No one went hungry during COVID-19 pandemic, says Nemcha Kipgen

Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency MLA and the lone woman BJP legislator of the State, Nemcha Kipgen claimed that under the BJP Government no one went hungry during the Covid-19 pandemic.Nemcha Kipgen on Tuesday flagged off the last free food grains distribution under PMGKAY at Kangpokpi (B) FPS Centre and handed over 5 Kg of rice each to the beneficiaries in a bag printed with the image of PM Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and the MLA herself for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
The MLA then visited various other distribution centres including Daili FPS Centre, Yaikongpao FPS Centre, Tumnoupokpi FPS Centre, Kalapahar (B) FPS Centre, Keithelmanbi FPS Centre, Parsain, and Santolabari FPS Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Nemcha Kipgen expressed her appreciation to PM Narendra Modi for launching the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) purely on humanitarian grounds to ensure that no one went hungry as they combat the pandemic.

She mentioned that PMGKAY is a food security welfare scheme announced by the Government of India in March 2020 which started providing free food grains to all the beneficiaries from April 2020 till November 2021 during the first and second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India.
The MlL stated that freed food grains distribution which was curtailed with the improvement of Covid situation in the second wave would be reviewed again as per the prevalent situation and unpredictable third wave.
Nemcha Kipgen further lauded the FPS Agent for their relentless effort and dedication to the people.
During the event, the participants including the MLA also shouted the slogans, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, Jindabad', 'BJP Zindabad' as a mark of gratitude to the Prime Minister.
