Imphal, September 02 2011: Along with holding the first meeting of the District Re-organisation Committee today with Chief Secretary DS Poonia in the chair, the Committee has started collecting relevant datum.

The District Re-organisation Committee has been set up with the Chief Secretary as the chairman following a State Cabinet decision in the light of Sadar Hills district demand.

The Committee is supposed to submit its report to the Government in three months' time.

DGP, Commissioner Revenue, Principal Secretary (Rural Development) and officials of Home Department attended the first meeting of the Committee which was held today.

It is said that the Committee has also started collecting informations related to the existing districts.

The second meeting of the Committee is expected to be held on Sep 12 .
