Closing ceremony of 10th Kanglei Mega Sports festival held

Imphal, April 01 2021: The valedictory ceremony of the sports festival which was inaugurated on March 27 was held today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Konsam Samita, Staff Reporter, The Sangai Express, was honoured with 'Achangba Paomee' award at the closing ceremony of 10th Kanglei Mega Sports Festival-2021 organised by Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) .

She was amongst 20 media persons who were honoured with the award at the event.

Speaking at the event, Education Minister S Rajen said even though Manipur is a small state, the youths of the state have occupied a very important place in sports and related activities not just in National level but also in the International arena.

This is the result of dedication and hardwork by the youths and they have truly made Manipur a powerhouse of sports, he added.

The Minister added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gifted National Sports University to Manipur because of the vast potential in the state.

Some people are trying to ruin the future of Manipur by engaging in drug trade which results in various crimes and this should not be continued, he added.

Education Minister S Rajen also lauded KSA for organising the sports meet which will aid in the fight against drug abuse and will ensure that the students and youths stay in the right path.

Final of Football match was also played between DESAM and MSF.

MSF beat DESAM 1-0 to clinch the title.
