Enrolment to Government schools have increased six fold: S Rajen

Education Minister S Rajen Singh has informed that enrolment in Government schools has increased to six times than before.
He said that it is because of the improvement in infrastructure in the Government schools and education system of the State.
The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the occasion of the Premiere Show of the play "Ereipakkidamak" based on the New Education Policy (NEP) at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal today.
S Rajen said that after the launched of School Fagathansi Mission in the State, number of school dropped out students has been decreasing.
There has been a turning point in the mindsets of the people of Manipur particularly the guardians regarding the education of their children, he added.
He maintained that the Central Government led by Narendra Modi has introduced the scheme National Education Policy, NEP, 2020.NEP has covered a wide range of areas in education sector including vocational and other co-curricular activities.
The new policy will successfully be providing a prospect of job security to the citizens.
The policy will bear fruit by the year 2030 as targeted, minister informed.
The Minister asserted that the guidelines and all the pages of the New Education Policy may be found hard to go through but it will be easier to propagate through the medium of a play.
That is why the department of education had decided to sponsor and organize a mass awareness program on NEP through the medium of a play (Shumang Leela) "Ereipakkidamak", he added.
He also said that the teachers of Government schools are all well qualified.
They possessed all the required talents of being an ideal teacher.
He also appealed the people of the State to send their kids to the Government schools as there have been efforts by the Government to improve these schools to the best.
Speaking as president, Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Letpao Haokip said that education only can bring change in the society.
Efforts should be made to improve the education system.
He appealed concerned contractors in different departments to maintain quality for the future generation.
Agriculture & Vet Minister, O Lukhoi Singh, Commissioner (Education), M Harekrishna Singh, IAS attended the occasion as as guests of honour.
Director, Education (S), L Nadakumar Singh, IAS, ASPD (SSA) T Phulen Meetei, MCS, officials from education department and others also attended the occasion.
