Storm wreaks havoc at Longpi village

Imphal, April 30 2015 : A devastating storm that lashed the State in the night of April 24 left trails of destruction at Longpi village under Nungba subdivision of Tamenglong district.

The storm reportedly destroyed houses, razed the school and the village community hall, according to a statement issued by the chief of Longpi village, Kailal Gangte.

Owing to the complete destruction of the Longpi HS, which has around 150 students, normal classes are badly affected, thus putting the academic career of the students at jeopardy it said.

The village chief has urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and redressed the grievances at the earliest.

The statement added that bad road condition of the area has also caused the delay in giving this information.
