Imphal, January 31 2022:
The proscribed NSCN/GPRN has categorically stated that the Government of India lacks political will to solve the Naga issue.
A statement issued by NSCN/GPRN president Yung Aung on the occasion of the outfit's 42nd raising day alleged that India's successive Governments failed to live up to its commitment.
The rebel leader also conveyed revolutionary salute and best greetings to all the Naga people and people of WESEA region.
In the aftermath of the Shillong Accord of 1975 and the failure of the NNC, NSCN/GPRN was formed on January 31, 1980 to assume the mantle and responsibility of the Naga National movement and to salvage from further destruction, Yung Aung said.
He also conveyed solidarity to the Naga victims of the indiscriminate killings at Mon district on December 4, 2021 by the 'Indian forces' .
The whole Naga country was in deep shock and rage and there was widespread demand for removal of AFSPA immediately but India has tightened its grip by extending the draconian law by another six months totally disregarding and ignoring the cry of the Nagas for justice, read the statement.
Maintaining that the appalling and unchecked human rights violation in the Naga country is an attack on the international human rights movement and challenges the core principles of the United Nations, the outfit asserted that it's time for the international community to take moral and humanitarian responsibility to end the decades-long alleged occupation and allow the Naga people to determine their own future as enshrined in the international law.
The pro-talk Naga political groups are trapped in their own clamour and disunity and have lost the skill of manoeuvring the Indian bureaucrats, it remarked.
They have lost their political wisdom the day they gave up on sovereignty in exchange for the so-called Naga solution, Yung Aung continued.
He said that these Naga groups had a deep conflicting personal and political interests which makes the Naga issue more complicated and confuse the people.
The Government of India has provided them with only one option, a one-way ticket.
They can get in but there is no way out, asserted the rebel leader.
Despite these harsh realities, most Nagas, irrespective of tribes and artificial borders, still have high hope of a common future, a future free from domination and assimilation, added the statement.
It said that the older Naga leaders and generations have passed on having given their best for the Nation and today the new generation must take up the responsibility of shouldering the national burden.
The NSCN/GPRN also called upon all Nagas to continue their physical and prayer support until the final goal is achieved.
