Sadu Chiru Waterfall: Need to develop infrastructure to attract tourists, says Deputy Chief Minister

Sadu Chiru waterfall also known as Leimaram waterfall is a well known tourist destination of the State.
The area can be further developed to attract foreign tourists, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam stated addressing the first 'Men Conference' of the Chiru Rem Baptist Churches Association, Manipur held today at Sadu Chiru village under Senapati District (about 30 km from the State capital) .
The conference, hosted by Sadu Chiru Baptist Church, was the first since the formation of the Chiru Rem Baptist Churches Association, Manipur.
The conference was held under the theme 'Renew your strength in the Lord' .
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam graced the function as chief guest while IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip attended as functional president.
Vice-chairman of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SHADC), Kangpokpi, Thangjakam Misao, ADC member of Tamenglong district Alar Thoitak and SHADC Kangpokpi Dinglar Chiru were the guests of honour of the conference.

The Deputy CM, in his address, urged the villagers to pursue the concerned authorities to develop tourists resort in and around the waterfall areas.
"If infrastructure is well developed, drawing tourist whether domestic or foreign will be much simpler and there can be economic growth in the area," he stated.
He gave his assurance that he will consult with concerned authorities of the State Government to bring infrastructural development in the area.
Replying to the memorandum submitted by the Chiru Rem Baptist Churches Association and villagers, he said works will be taken up accordingly to construct multipurpose hall in the area.
A primary health sub-centre will also be instituted in the area to provide medical facilities, he added.
Commenting on the importance of conducting such conference, he said when one has spiritual values whatever the religion may be and truly follows the religious teachings, society will experience peaceful co-existence with mutual respect for one another.
'Love and Forgiveness' should be emphasized and when we have such qualities we will have unity and the State will develop in a fast pace, he added.
Meanwhile, Ngamthang Haokip stated that under the leadership of the Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, the State has developed in a fast pace bridging the gap between the valley and hills bringing all round development.
He said the recent media hype has led people to think that other political parties are domineering over the ruling Congress party which is not true.
The proof of it is the recently held municipal elections, he added.
Guest of honour Thangjakam Misao stressed on the important role played by the Chiru ethnic community even though they are one of the minor communities of Manipur.
