Jiribam, November 28:
The NSCN(IM) today denied issuing threats to the Meitei community in traveling on the National Highway 53 as alleged and appealed to the transporters to resume vehicle service on the route from tomorrow.
The appeal was made when a delegation of Naga leaders held negotiations with the leaders of the outfit on the matter today.
The outfit denied the charges and appealed for the resumption of vehicular services from tomorrow.
The negotiations between the Naga leaders and NSCN (IM) followed the public meeting held at the Jiribam Town Hall yesterday.
Meanwhile, vehicle services continue to be suspended on the NH 53 today too.
Meanwhile the UCM has sought a clarification from the NSCN(IM) on the restriction.
All armed outfits should not commit anything which would bring communal hatred among the peace loving communities in the State, it said.
It flayed the Government for its inaction.
