Kut handloom exhibition begins at CCpur

The district handloom and textiles, Churachandpur has begun a week long handloom exhibition at YPA Hall here with thirty-nine societies and about half the number Self Help Groups displaying their products in sixty stalls.
Inaugurating one of the district's grandest handloom exhibitions, Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus hails the organisers for hosting such an exhibition in the district.
She also encourages the participants to be ingenious in their creations by fusing modern touches to the traditional products.
This, she said, will attract the youths of today and will subsequently transform the trade for good.
Additional Director of Commerce and Industries V Tualthang, General Manager DIC Churachandpur G Hanghal and Manager SBI Churachandpur has also graced the inaugural function.
The exhibition is set to continue till Saturday.
Zou
daily launched (LAMKA) A monthly Zou journal, Zogam Today has taken a fresh leap today by switching it into a daily paper during a solemn function at Zogal Hall here.
The one-year old journal was edited by S Nengkhanlun, the incumbent secretary of MHJU and its conversion into a daily has made the journal, the first daily paper in Zou dialect.
But like any other local dailies here, the management has opted to identify the paper as an independent daily rather than confining it only with the Zou community.
Zogam Today's launch has raised the number of daily papers published from the district to six.
The other papers are � Manipur Express, The Lamka Post, Hmansawnna Thar, Nisin Thuhiltu and Sikni-Eng.
